Captivated by the unconventional narratives and the mundane aspects of daily life, Louis Granet positions himself as a formal chronicler of his era. His iconographic collection is remarkable in its abundance and consists of figurative elements sourced from his immediate surroundings. By combining such illustrative character with the research on composition and perception, Granet is able to weave his own reality-fiction. In his latest exhibition, Granet presents a refreshing viewpoint mirroring his personal obsessions, asserting the diversity of his inspirational sources, deeply rooted in the legacy of visual and pop culture.

With a profound connection to the art of comic book illustration, Granet employs the techniques and codes he absorbed throughout his academic path at the prestigious School of Comics of Angoulême, adapting them to his canvas work. More recently, he has turned to deformation as a potent tool of expression, with the intention to unsettle the viewer, stimulating a range of interpretations. In his reinterpretation of tulip bouquets, Louis Granet immerses himself in the exploration of light and colour. Such process allows him to probe texture, reminiscent of the style of Van Gogh or Monet. For Warhol, the bouquet represents a pure object of consumption. Aiming to challenge conventions, these works beckon a visual journey where each detail could unlock a new interpretation.
